This position is a part of BSA/AML Department, a team that is integral to TowneBank’s efforts in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.
The BSA/AML Department assists the Bank’s businesses to design effective processes through the development of consistent and cohesive policies and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable anti-money laundering and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) regulations.
The BSA Systems Analyst works within the BSA/AML Department to provide support to the BSA Systems Manager in the maintenance of BSA and OFAC systems/applications.
The BSA Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for managing user access and troubleshooting/resolving issues relating to systems/applications utilized for BSA and OFAC monitoring.
The Analyst will assist with new and current vendor support tickets and submit necessary information to the vendor(s) to close tickets where appropriate.
Also, the Analyst will reconcile source data to BSA/AML system data, document a summary of results and resolve any discrepancies identified.
Lastly, the Analyst will develop and maintain technical expertise associated with the system user roles and rights/permissions which users require specific access.
Essential Responsibilities: BSA systems administrator for user access in model inventory and sub-models Troubleshoot system issues for the BSA Transaction Monitoring System (TMS), sanctions screening systems, and core banking systems Manage vendor tickets, including establishing new tickets, updating existing issues and providing the vendor(s) with approval to close tickets where appropriate Reconcile source data to BSA/AML system data, document a summary of results, and resolve discrepancies identified Oversight of systems change management administrative duties, authorized to make system configuration changes approved by Deputy BSA Officer or BSA/AML Officer Develop and maintain technical expertise associated with the user roles, rights/permissions, and which users require specific access Develop and maintain technical expertise associated with system functionality as assigned by the BSA Systems Manager including the management of updates, releases, and substantial upgrades to BSA systems and models Maintains and updates BSA IT system related procedures Conduct administrative duties on other systems or analytical tools used by the BSA and Fraud departments Assist with audits and exams with providing change management documentation Assist BSA Management with ongoing business continuity testing Back-up the BSA Systems Manager as a point of contact with Technology Services (IT) for BSA platform changes (such as server, network, upgrades, releases etc.
) and BSA related projects Back-up the BSA Systems Manager with any troubleshooting that may need to occur due to issues between the BSA transaction monitoring system (TMS) and core banking systems.
Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Other duties as assigned by BSA Management Minimum Required Skills & Competencies: 2-3 years of experience as a model or business analyst or similar systems position, preferably at a financial institution Advanced technical skills (Word, Excel, and general database) Exceptional problem-solving, organization, communication, documentation, and analytical skills with the ability to express ideas and results in detailed reports Experience with data validation and import reconciliation Ability to interact well with others and possess a team player attitude while also able to work with little supervision to conduct in depth analysis Ability to work with application vendors, the Bank’s IT and Model Risk Management departments, and auditors and examiners Detail-oriented with excellent planning and time management skills Desired Skills & Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, mathematics, business analysis, finance, or related field Experience with BSA/AML specific systems/applications or models Knowledge of federal requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act requirements including Customer Identification Program/USA Patriot Act and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) Experience in a financial institution with asset size $10B and over Physical Requirements: Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.
Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
