Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking for a service-oriented professional to work as a Part-Time (Wage) Customer Service Technician at at various locations within the Portsmouth District Customer Service Centers (Chesapeake, Norfolk/Military Circle, Norfolk/Widgeon Rd, Portsmouth, Suffolk, VA Beach/Buckner, VA Beach/Hilltop).

The selected applicant will handle various customer transactions including communicating policies, procedures, and regulations; issuing IDs; processing applications; administering vision, driver, and in-car road tests.
In addition, processing diverse vehicle registrations and titling, tax collection, and other DMV-related services.
Training will be provided to ensure your success.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date.
The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year.
All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period.
This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
Job Requirements:
-Customer service experience working in a fast paced environment.
-Experience using a personal computer or other automated systems.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Experience working in a team or group environment.
-Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and multitasking skills.
-Must have attention to detail, accuracy, and complete assignments on time.
-Flexibility to work M-F and Saturday.
-Can lift 10 – 25 pounds.
