Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and execute menu items
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet the highest standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including scheduling and assigning tasks
- Manage inventory and control food costs
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Strong restaurant management skills
- Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations and techniques
- Leadership abilities to effectively supervise a team
- Experience in menu planning and recipe development
- Proficient in food management, including ordering, storage, and rotation
- Excellent food handling skills to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
- Ability to manage shifts and ensure smooth operations during service times
- Familiarity with dietary department requirements, such as accommodating special diets or restrictions
- Strong inventory control skills to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
