Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Biller / Office Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in billing for a non medical home care agency and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
As a Medical Biller / Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the office calendar
\_ Participate in the hiring process to include; recruitment, initial applicant screening, interviewing, reference checks, license verification and criminal history checks
- Facilitate and maintain personnel files and client charts according to VDH Office and Medicaid
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes monthly and as needed
\_ Bill weekly to MCO's (managed care organizations) to ensure reimbursement for personal care and/or respite care services provided to their members
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and email
- Maintain inventory of office supplies and order as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
Skills:
- Knowledge of billing / submitting claims to OfficeAlly and/or Availity
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with phone systems and handling patient inquiries
