Purpose and Scope of Job:
Responsible for the collection, assessment and reporting of customer predictive maintenance information and providing technical analysis in the warranty evaluation process.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Evaluate returned units for failure analysis and scope of repair.
Perform non-destructive testing and inspection
Complete repairs and post assembly testing of repaired units.
Perform warranty inspections and repairs on customer equipment on most gearmotor (GM) product lines.
Provide Field Service support for most gearmotor product lines.
Make recommendations based on either experience or research to improve processes with the QA/Warranty Department.
Execute scrap orders as required.
Assist with Inspection, breakdown and testing functions of return to stock units and parts as needed
Other functions as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years industrial condition monitoring, repair or reliability services experience, or an Associate’s Degree with three (3) years’ experience, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of root cause failure analysis and predictive and preventive maintenance technologies and methodologies.
Working knowledge of the operating characteristics of rotating machinery.
Level I Vibration experience.
Experience in other PdM technology, with IR or Oil technologies is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to collect and analyze data, produce databases and write reports.
Must have clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written and be detail oriented.
Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of skilled trades including welding, metal fabrication, electrical and pipefitting.
Work Conditions & Physical Environment:
Duties are performed in an industrial environment.

The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Some overnight travel may be required.
