Purpose and Scope of Job:
Primarily responsible for reviewing user information technology needs, participating in the design of new or modification of current application systems, defining system requirements, and performing related application programming and database resource work.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Design/modify, code, debug, test, and document moderately complex application systems.
Review program (ERP) problems, and correct/modify code based on company's evolving business rules.
Determine source data (input), processing requirements (output), output format and timing estimates.
Work with users in designing portions of complex application systems and advise users regarding program techniques and design .
Maintain program libraries, database integrity and system values.
Check EDI trading data and advise user on possible corrections.
Verify that programs/system meets performance criteria.
Perform AS/400 systems administration and user security.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Computer Technology or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Two (2) years of full life-cycle programming experience in RPG/400, RPG/IV, ILE, Query/400, SQL/400, and CL/400 or earlier version RPG3 is preferred.
Previous experience working with ERP applications.
Basic understanding of DB2/400 and AS/400 system administration, maintenance, and performance monitoring preferred.
