*GENERAL SUMMARY*
The Mental Health Therapist (LCSW or LPC) for the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is responsible for providing a full range of direct and indirect care services in an innovative interdisciplinary setting.
Direct patient care includes providing evidence-based assessments and treatment to children and families through individual, group, and family therapy.
Indirect care includes development of comprehensive treatment plans; timely completion of documentation; and collaboration with nursing, psychiatry, and other specialties as appropriate.
Reports to the PHP Practice Manager and PHP Clinical Program Director.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Utilizing evidence-based practices, conduct clinical evaluations in order to develop comprehensive treatment plans for youth with significant mental health needs receiving intensive therapeutic treatment.
* Assesses risks for individual patients and develop safety plans with patient, family, and treatment team.
* Facilitate and lead group therapy for patients across ages/developmental levels.
* Provide individual therapy to youth with complex mental health needs and, potentially, co-occurring acute or chronic physical health concerns.
* Provide family-based interventions and support.
* Support milieu staff, nurses, and other providers with implementation of individualized treatment plans.
* Obtain and track outcome measures, through use of psychometric rating scales and data collection in order to measure progress and inform treatment planning.
* Communicate treatment goals and plan to parents/caregivers.
* Facilitate and lead psychoeducational groups for parents/caregivers and other family members.
* Participate, via phone, in after-hours coverage of crisis therapeutic support for patients and families.
* Coordinate with other disciplines and function within an interdisciplinary team setting.
* Meet departmental expectations for clinical service delivery, including values of excellence, hope, accessibility, and respect.
* Complete documentation in a timely manner, including assessment, comprehensive treatment plans, insurance authorization requests, and documentation of daily service delivery.
* Support patients and families in coordination and integration of care, including collaboration with internal referrals along the continuum of care and collaboration with and referral to community resources.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS*
* Current Virginia clinical license (LCSW or LPC)
* Certification in any of the below evidenced-based modalities preferred, advanced training in modalities also considered: Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
*MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS*
* Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health or related field.
* At minimum, two years of post-license related work experience preferred.
* Previous clinical experience with implementing evidence-based treatments in treating youth with complex psychiatric problems required.
* Experience with implementation of evidence-based treatment approaches (e.
g.
, DBT, PCIT, TF-CBT, FBT).
* Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary.
* Ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member.

*WORKING CONDITIONS*
* Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
* Full-time, on-site required.
