PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
SITE OF SERVICE:
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) located in Portsmouth, Virginia in support of NMCP and its associated Branch Health/Medical Clinics (BHC) and Tricare Prime Clinics (TPC).

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Degree: Certificate.
Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.
e.
, technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Additional Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience: Have a minimum of 12 consecutive months experience within the preceding 24 months working as a pharmacy technician.

English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
HOURS:
The Pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, including all Federal Holidays.
Services shall be provided to cover all hours of the day.
Each HCW will be scheduled for a shift length that can range from four (4) hours to twelve and half (12.
5) hours in length.
Any shift greater than six (6) hours will include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute meal break.
In no instance will a HCW exceed 80 hours per two-week period.
