gov/ Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties This position supports the Facility’s mission by providing music therapy services to the individuals that live at SEVTC.
This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need.
All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.
The duties identified below are typical of those normally expected of a Music Therapist.
These tasks are not intended to be all-inclusive but will include most of the recurring tasks to be performed.
Ability to develop, plan, organize, and implement music therapy programs designed to promote the skills, efforts, social and work behaviors of the intellectually/physically disabled in preparation for community living.
Have the ability to evaluate and make treatment recommendations for clients.
Proficient in both verbal and written communication skills.
Additional duties will include (but are not limited to) operating a state vehicle, participating in special campus activities, utilizing TherOps techniques with Individuals, and working an irregular work week and hours when necessary.
(Mandatory Pre service training class is Mon-Fri, 12 days long 8:00 am to 4:30 pm).
Minimum Qualifications • Valid Driver’s license required.
•Music Therapy Degree (grad/undergrad) from an accredited school.
Work/internship experience dealing with various types of intellectual, mental, and physical disorders, and people of all ages.
Experienced in evaluating, establishing treatment intervention, and assessing effectiveness of treatment interventions.
Currently Board Certified through CBMT or eligible to sit for certification.
