Our Cashier is responsible for receiving and processing payment for services rendered or for parts and materials purchased.
The Cashier records the payment amount and closes repair orders in our computer system, The Cashier must operate specific software programs to keep track of customer data such as service history, parts purchased, and contact information.
He/She may need to calculate material charges, and repairs charges, and will need to understand various types of warranties when needed.
The ideal cashier candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year of money-handling experience, a pleasant and helpful demeanor with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position: - Greet customers in a friendly and appreciative fashion - Answer telephone inquiries and route calls quickly and efficiently - Receive and process payment for products and services using electronic point-of-sale processing equipment - Process credit and debit transactions, checks, and other forms of payment - Operate system software to accurately maintain customer data - Encourage repeat business by acknowledging the customer's purchase with gratitude RESPONSIBILITIES Greets customers in a friendly and appreciative fashion Answers incoming telephone calls and route calls quickly and efficiently to the appropriate person/department Receives and processes payments for products and services Processes payments using the electronic POS system and credit/debit payment media Operates system software to accurately maintain customer data Accepts responsibility and accountability for his or her money drawer Encourages repeat business by acknowledging the customer's purchase with gratitude QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred One year of experience handling money in a retail environment Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit/debit card processing skills Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Excellent telephone skills Strong computer and internet skills Neat, clean, and professional appearance An impressive work ethic PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is an in-person position and your attendance is required in order to maintain employment.
