Status: Full Time (40 hours)
Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia!
Work hours: Rotating shift and will work any of the following shifts per week below including every other weekend:
0600-1430
0700-1530
0730-1600
1100-1930
1230-2100
1700-0530
1930-0730
Will work every other weekend (Sat and Sun) and will be off one day during the week.
Job responsibilities:
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist.
Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.
Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.
Required qualifications:
Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED
Preferred qualifications:
1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
Prior hospital experience preferred
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
