Sentara Health is hiring a Team Lead,, Specialty Pharma at Sentara Norfolk General Specialty Pharmacy in Norfolk, VA! Shift: Full Time (40 hours) Work hours: Rotating 8 hour shift but M-F day shift (0800 – 16:30, 08:30- 17:00, 09:30- 18:00 and occasional Saturday between 8:30 to 5pm.
Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA Job responsibilities: The SNGH Case Management Pharmacy Technician Team Leader routinely interacts with specialty pharmacy patients with complex medication needs requiring high-touch care and follow-up under the direction of a pharmacist.
The team leader is an experienced technician with a working knowledge of both the SNGH Case Management Pharmacy Technician I and Technician II tasks.
This leader will serve as a role model to fellow pharmacy technicians and is expected to lead, coordinate, train, coach, and help develop the technician team working in the call center and/or fulfillment centers.
In addition, the team leader has a thorough working knowledge of the computer systems and workflow processes within the specialty pharmacy and is expected to identify and work collaboratively to resolve IT or telecommunication-related concerns as they arise.
The team leader collaborates with the management team regarding team meetings/huddles; works to improve processes; serves as an advocate for the staff; and creates/maintains the team's schedule.
The TL serves as an escalation source for customer service complaints, reviews calls, and prescription metrics, and provides input to management regarding pharmacy performance.
Required qualifications Virginia Pharmacy Technician License REQUIRED 3 years Pharmacy Technician Experience REQUIRED Preferred experience with specialty pharmacy, long-term care, outpatient pharmacy, and outpatient clinic.

VA OR NC (depending upon state location) Pharmacy Technician Registration Number, PTCB or NHA preferred Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Certifications - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) High School Grad or Equivalent Pharmacy Technician 3 years Service Orientation Mathematics Critical Thinking Complex Problem Solving
