The primary role of the shipping and receiving coordinator is to ensure that all inbound shipments are executed accurately and on time.
Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for making sure that all outbound shipments are assigned, and all necessary documentation is prepared for processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide updated information to the inventory control system to include documenting all receipts, shipments and movement of materials or equipment; including how to decipher loading trucks.
Maintain good relationships with all carriers and establish and maintain communication protocols accordingly.
Audit freight invoices and vouchers.
Investigate damage and other freight related issues, resolving unwarranted charges.
Receive all inbound shipments against the appropriate PO.
Setup delivery modes for all outbound shipments and assign them to the appropriate carriers.
Coordinate all orders for shipping with pickers and loaders.
Maintain all logs and reports (late report) for future use and analysis.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
2-5 years related shipping experience.
Firm understanding of LTL, TL and parcel modes of transportation.
Superior customer service skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite (word, outlook, excel, power point)
Strong team mentality: ability to respond appropriately and promptly to leaders, team members, and customers as needed.
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
EDUCATION
High School Education or equivalent
