com) GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB Under limited supervision, performs supervisory and administrative duties in multiple benefit programs administered through the Benefit Programs Division of Social Services.
Reports to the Assistant Director of Social Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Directs, coordinates, and supervises program plans and activities, coordinating special projects; ensuring adherence to multiple program regulations and policies; establishing goals and objectives for supervisors and work groups; developing and implementing local policies, and procedures necessary to ensure efficiency in operations, accessing multiple program performances and compliance, developing and implementing best practices.
Monitors and analyzes the effectiveness of service delivery to include the preparation of reports; remains abreast of current statewide policy initiatives and best practices; assists with strategic planning, research studies, and special projects.
Responsible for the effective supervision and administration to include budget preparation and monitoring expenditures, staff development and training, succession planning, performance management, employee relations, prioritizing and assigning work and related activities; evaluates resources needs, and manages the effective deployment of resources.
Evaluates effectiveness of programs and services offered; recommends changes; provides final decision for all divisional matters.
Provides information sessions to outside groups upon request.
Participates in civil defense and community activities.
Serves as liaison to federal, state, and local agencies, communities, professional boards and task force group; collaborates with other agencies to develop and coordinate resources to establish effective working relationships; and safeguards the confidentiality of the program and program participants.
Reviews and evaluates program performance to ensure proper implementation and assists subordinates in difficult or complicated cases; interprets policy and advises subordinates, as necessary.

Education, Experience & Special Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in sociology, human services or a related field, and 5 to 7 years of experience in human services program eligibility or case management work, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS An acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check.
