Project Engineer duties / requirements:
Duties:
Provide program support for a comprehensive Facility Management Program to include BUILDER and RPIE (Real Property Installed Equipment) sustainment programs and coordination with Facilities Divisions at the designated Activities.
Responsibilities include:
· Provide engineering assistance to the site Facilities Management team.
· Provide facility requirement analysis of and identification support for existing assets to determine project requirements for new construction, repairs and alterations.
· Evaluate major items of equipment and systems to determine their operating efficiency, capability, and life expectancy.
· Assist with project planning to establish an annual list of projects to be accomplished and provide detailed scope information, to include cost estimating.
· Perform asset condition assessments in accordance with BUILDER guidelines.
· Identify and evaluate RPIE identification tags in accordance with BUMED established standards.
· Assess RPIE in accordance with BUILDER guidance to determine operating efficiency, capacity, and remaining life expectancy.
· Coordinate RPIE information with Database Sustainment Specialist to ensure completeness and accuracy.
· Validate BUILDER work plans generating items for induction into DMLSS-FM Work Request and Requirements modules.
· Review and validate BUILDER work plan items, translating them into executable work packages in DMLSS-FM.
· Implement routine BUILDER section updates as part of BUILDER data sustainment.
· Perform site assessments to determine overall facility condition and to prioritize work action based on estimated cost, system criticality and facility mission.
Requirements:
· Security Clearance Requirements: Secret (Tier 3 level investigation) Clearance or the ability to obtain an interim Tier 3 with subsequent favorable adjudication
· Experience with Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) and the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
· 5-10 Years of technical experience with Real Property Systems; Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team.
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Must have the ability to travel (minimum 25% CONUS and OCONUS)
A fully qualified candidate will have experience and expertise in the following:
· DOD Organizational Structure, Processes and Procedures
· Healthcare Facility Management
· Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Operations & Maintenance Procedures
· DOD BUILDER Sustainment Management System Implementation and Management
· The following are highly desirable:
o Prior military service as Medical Service Corps/Civil Engineer Corps officer
o Experience in facilities management, construction project management
