, is seeking a mid-level Configuration Data Analyst with five or more years of expertise using Configuration Data Managers’ Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) and an understanding of the new Model Based Product Support (MBPS) system.
This position supports the US Navy at the Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP), an activity located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The Configuration Data Analyst will support SURFMEPP engineers and system specialists by maintaining the accuracy of Class Maintenance Plan (CMP) configuration information for all Navy surface ships in the Maintenance and Ship Work Planning (M&SWP) application.
Extensive experience with configuration data management tools is required.
DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS, IDENTIFYING BOTH ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL DUTIES: Typical work requirements include: Maintain the accuracy of the Class Maintenance Plan (CMP) by updating the Maintenance & Ship Work Planning (M&SWP) database with current ship configuration data.
Develop baseline ship configuration from MBPS and prepare data for upload to M&SWP.
Process interface updates for SURFMEPP Configuration Working Group (CWG), running MP, MID, RIC Change, and Error reports produced from ASI Files, download and process files from Joint Technical Data Integration (JTDI) and upload files to M&SWP database.
Participate in testing the MBPS interface with the M&SWP follow-on application as directed.
Provide M&SWP user training for SURFMEPP Systems Engineers, as required Assist SURFMEPP M&SWP users with account management and access issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Products.
Experience Requirements: Minimum five years’ of expert level experience managing CDMD-OA and its replacement (MDPS) data files.
Ten years’ experience is desirable.
Knowledge of the Maintenance and Ship Work Planning (M&SWP) application and its usage in maintaining Class Maintenance Plan information.
System administration experience (user account maintenance) is desired.
Educational Requirements: High school graduate.
A training certificate in ship configuration management is desirable.
