That’s why we need you, a financial analyst who can navigate the requirements, policies, and regulations that govern funding, to make sure our client can make the most impact.
The selected candidate will fill a Financial Analyst position with our client, the Joint Test & Evaluation (JT&E) Program Office (JPO) on government customer on-site in Suffolk, VA.
The position supports compiling financial data and meeting financial reporting requirements to successfully manage risk, forecast, and build actionable plans for the most successful financial outcome
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Duties: This position is responsible for financial management support to the JPO by using the basic budget and finance principles.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Use the DOD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations, DOD Foreign Clearance Guide, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), military funding documents (MIPRs, PR&Cs), and Defense Travel System (DTS) to monitor and control costs and schedules.
Manages and tracks Government and civilian travel; executes military interdepartmental purchase requests (MIPR), contractual purchase requests (PR&C), and processes Government equipment purchase requests.
Performs analyses and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated parameters and cost control guidelines.
Prepares budgets and schedules and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as variance analysis.
Prepares weekly/monthly reports and presentations analyzing contractor status to include performance/trend evaluations, independent cost-to-complete projections, and identification of potential problem areas.
Performs other related duties as assigned, including continuous improvement initiatives.
Limited travel may be required.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree and 5-years of related experience (Military, Government, and/or Civilian)
Experience using specialized knowledge of budget and/or cost analysis principles and procedures to analyze, evaluate, and participate in the performance management of contracts.
Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Must be proficient in working with large spreadsheets and financial data.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is required.
