Position Summary: Manage and review real estate tax compliance and consulting engagements with minimal supervision, mentor and develop real estate team members, and build and maintain client relationships.
Position Duties:
Manage income tax compliance engagements and review income tax returns for real estate focused clients (typically multi-family housing and commercial real estate)
Comply with regulations at the federal, state, and local level
Ability to lead, train, and coach staff while identifying staff competencies to manage internal job scheduling
Research and demonstrate knowledge of technical tax requirements and superior client service skills
Develop and manage client relationships and participate in proposals for prospective clients
Monitor the quality of our product and the performance of the real estate team
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Approximately 6+ years relevant work experience required
Previous tax experience in public accounting firm required
CPA or EA Certification required
Strong leadership and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with any of the following is helpful but not required: Affordable Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Opportunity Zones (OZ), Historic Tax Credits (HTC), Deferred Tax Exchanges Under Section 1031, Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
