Leasing Consultant - Taylor Pointe Community

Seeking an experienced, energetic, and organized Leasing Consultant with extensive Tax Credit experience who is excited to join this team.
The opening is at our beautiful and centrally located Tax Credit community located in Western Branch Chesapeake, Virginia which consists of 120 units.
The ideal candidate should possess the skills required for the position that has strong leasing, resident retention, and customer service skills.
Must be able to lease and work independently when needed.
May have to assist the Community Manager with tasks.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Performs a variety of administrative tasks geared toward the goal of maximum occupancy by quality residents and performs other functions as assigned by the Community Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Abides by Fair Housing Laws; provides tours of apartments to prospective residents; runs credit reports on prospective residents; prepares lease packets; inspects apartments prior to showing them; maintains logs of traffic through the property; leases units; provides information over the telephone to prospective residents; maintains a visible public relations’ attitude toward current and prospective residents.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills and tax credit experience is needed.
OCCASIONAL FUNCTIONS: Typing and filing property–related reports; may be asked to assist with rent collection, bank deposits, or other general errands; may be asked to assist with resident retention activities.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Required: High school graduation and a sales/marketing/public relations personality Preferred: Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) training and experience.
Some advanced real estate training, including familiarity with the Landlord-Tenant and Fair Housing laws, and prior experience in a leasing position SUPERVISES: None REPORTS TO: Community Manager
