*The Infant Teacher* is responsible for the supervision and management of a classroom or a group of children in accordance with state licensing standards agency and center philosophy and policy, and national accreditation criteria.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
Teacher qualifications will model the emerging NAEYC educational qualifications for teaching staff.
We are looking for teachers with degrees in Early Childhood Education or working toward their credentials.

*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: *_A bachelor’s degree in early childhood or child development, and at least one year of experience teaching in an early childhood setting.

*OR*
An associate degree in early childhood education or related field,
*OR* a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential may be substituted if an Individual Training Plan (ITP) is developed and implemented to achieve a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
*A Career Studies in Child Development, which includes the 4 core courses in early childhood education, and an Individual Training Plan (ITP) developed and implemented to achieve an associate or higher degree in early childhood education will be accepted.
*Continuous improvement must be shown by meeting the stated minimum goals in an ITP.
Lead Teachers of children must be able to lift children up to 40 pounds continually for up to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and perform necessary cleaning and diapering procedures in accordance with local, state and national accreditation health and safety standards.
Must obtain a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray; obtain a doctor’s statement indicating no evidence of contagious diseases; the ability to lift 40 pounds without restrictions; pass a State and Federal Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry Check; visually and auditorily supervise children.
*This position must possess dependable transportation.
A valid driver’s license is preferred and may be required.

· Implementation of those aspects of the State Minimum Standards for Licensed Child Care Centers, National Accreditation standards, and local, state, federal, health, and safety standards, which apply to position or classroom.
*Professional Development*
· Current awareness of early childhood education, research, findings, and techniques through regular attendance at professional workshops, conferences, college level courses, and other training, including Medication Administration, and certification in First Aid and CPR
· Dependable in attendance.
*Program/Curriculum*
· Possession of thorough knowledge of child development, and developmentally appropriate practices.
· Supports cultural differences.
*Staff*
· Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss plans and needs of the children, classroom, and center.
· Development and encouragement of positive relationships among teachers and teacher assistants to create a team atmosphere.
· Develops and implement appropriate lesson plans and/or activities.

· Builds trust and rapport with children.
· Fosters their development of a positive self-concept.
*Class Management*
· Establishes routines and procedures, which help children function positively in a group situation.
· Cooperates with other staff.
*Environment*
· Establishment and maintenance of indoor and outdoor learning environments which are healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate for the age group, and effective.
